ABOUT Me
My FULL PROFILE
"Committed to improving understanding and confidence in Maths"
I am a committed, reliable, and extremely professional First Class Master of Mathematics graduate from The University of Manchester with an eagerness and a passion to pass on my own enthusiasm for the subject. As the founder of Maths Tuition and Support business, Maths SSS Solutions, I am a professional private Maths tutor with over 6 years’ experience working full time in & around education (both Private & State) and over 10 years working in all aspects, areas, and levels of Maths. Working for individuals & families nationwide and with schools in the local area, I have a history of improving confidence and abilities in Maths as well as a proven track record of increasing grades.
I graduated from the University of Manchester, having taken a 4 year Course and gained my Degree as Master of Mathematics with First Class Honours in 2015. After working as a Data Analyst, I made the career move to that of full time Maths Tuition, which allowed me to focus entirely on Maths and achieve a higher level of satisfaction.
My intention is to pass on the benefits gained from my experience of studying and working in all aspects of Mathematics. Having always enjoyed Maths I would also hope to pass on my own enthusiasm.
As a Tutor I aim to bring about understanding where there are problems or confusions, thereby generating the self-confidence in Maths, essential to the increase of achievement and the maximising of individual potential.
The 3 categories of Full Course Learning; General Improvement and Exam Revision and Preparation are designed for all students and Adult Learners in providing a choice of options.

MATHS SSS SOLUTIONS
- Founder & Private Maths Tutor at Maths Tuition & Support Business
As the founder of Maths SSS Solutions in 2017, I have been running my full time business for over 6 years, specialising in providing Maths Specialist Study Support heading towards GCSE and A – Level Examinations. Whilst working as a Data Analyst there were many key changes to both GCSE and A-Level specifications increasing the demand for specialised revision and exam preparation through the support of tutors. Hence the idea of Maths SSS Solutions was born!!
Working for individuals & families nationwide and with schools in the local area, I now have over 5 years’ experience working full time in & around Education (both Private & State) and over 10 years working in all aspects, areas, and levels of Maths. I have a history of improving confidence and abilities in Maths as well as a proven track record of increasing grades.
During this time, I have covered all the main exam boards; Edexcel, AQA, OCR & MEI and I also hold an Enhanced DBS Check which is constantly updated through the update service for schools or organisations to check at any time.

THE UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER & PRE 2017
- MSc Master of Mathematics with First Class Honours from The University of Manchester in 2015.
Before going full time and setting up my business, I have 6 additional years of experience where I was still able to pursue my passion of tutoring and supporting students towards GCSE, A – Level, and University exams. This was gained when working full time as a Data Analyst and previously at university, where I was also concentrating on completing my own academic studies. My many students have commented on more than one occasion how easy I am to talk to and how their confidence in Maths has grown greatly. To hear more from my previous students and to see what their parents have had to say, please read my references and testimonials page.
During my time at University, I found the personal interaction involved when working in small peer groups to be extremely valuable. Being able to contribute, challenge and discuss ways of solving mathematical problems also inspired a mutual confidence with each of us gaining a First Class Degree.
Syllabus Changes
Recently, changes have been introduced at both GCSE and A Level, with the former system of multiple modules now replaced by final exams at the end of the Course. From my research and experience during the last few years I am fully up to date with these changes including the new 9-1 grading system for GCSE. Concerns have arisen as a result of this change of emphasis, inevitably calling for more structured exam preparation and awareness of techniques.
As teachers are constantly under pressure to implement these new procedures whilst still delivering the Syllabus, the classroom does not always allow for individual anxieties to surface and be resolved, often resulting in undermining achievement.
My Teaching Style
From learning in a relaxed, less formal setting, a student can gain the understanding and confidence required to achieve their potential, so encouraging the best possible outcome. With a calm patient approach my tuition is carefully tailored to individual needs and abilities.
I aim to show how the solving of a problem can be achieved by breaking it down into a series of simple steps that vary with different types of questions. This process highlights any areas needing attention that a student may initially need to work on in order to move forward.
Other Interests
I have a keen interest in Sport. As a committed golfer I have been a member of Helsby Golf Club for many years. I travelled, spending over 3 months in South Africa where I enjoyed the experience of playing on a variety of courses including rounds at Durban Country Club, a Championship course.
Conclusion
The value of a personal tutor is now acknowledged to be crucial to the maximising of individual attainment and to the gaining of lifetime qualifications in order to realise their ambitions.
As a full time private Maths tutor, I am in an ideal position to offer high quality teaching with a professional approach. My lessons are thoroughly prepared with the further option of the setting and marking of homework, as and when appropriate.
I provide a carefully structured programme of Revision, as well as offering monitored teaching of the Full Course. Adult Learners seeking to upgrade or gain new qualifications in Maths are most welcome.
During recent years, due to the upheaval and lost time in education, only accentuated by the pandemic, gaps in learning have significantly widened. Left undetected, these could cause obstacles in the future, leading to possible losses in confidence and eventually, often resulting in the undermining of achievement.
As a professional tutor who is also a recently qualified graduate, I have the perfect mixture of subject exam specification knowledge and a clear memory of studying today’s topics myself, so readily appreciate the anxieties that can occur when preparing for exams.
My commitment is to encourage every student to gain the insight and understanding of Maths that will enable them to achieve the best possible outcome.
